What Proverbs Do For Me

"Take away the dross from the silver, and the smith has material for a vessel."
Proverbs 25:4

Do you ever feel as though you are in a boiling pot and can't figure out why?

God seems to have a way of throwing us into whatever situations are necessary in order to make us into what He wants us to be. I want to be free of the dross that keeps me from being fit for the Smith, but I don't want to go through the refining process to get there.
It hurts!
And I can't understand the "why" of so many things that happen in my life. It takes too long, it isn't comfortable, and I just don't like discomfort!
Oh, well...
It does seem that my Heavenly Smith is going to do it anyway, and I do want to be that fit vessel. But I'm just ready to get to the "fit" part.
Now!
Do you ever feel that you are always being refined and yet never quite get there? I guess that the saying, "Please be patient, God is not finished with me yet" is quite applicable to my life.
So please, be patient........

I'm glad you read my blog!

Yep...I'm with you. I want to be useful to the Smith, but I don't like fire. Good thing He is more concerned with my character than my comfort and He will get me through the fire. If I had to do it on my own, I would be a miserable failure!

I used to get so impatient with the sanctification part, as though there was a point at which we would 'arrive.' But not on this earth we won't. Praise God that He does continue that good work He began in us, even when we don't like the pain of it, and that for Jesus' sake, He doesn't count our sins against us!
