I Never Thought I'd See the Day!

    They hold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of laying snares secretly,
    thinking, “Who can see them?”
        They search out injustice,
saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.”
For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.
Psalm 64:5-6

First of all, DO NOT "donate now" to my blog.  You won't receive a free copy!  That just came with the picture of the book.  And I am not endorsing the book since I have not yet read it, so don't  buy it on my recommendation.

After the South Carolina primaries, I was cognizant once again of one very important fact:  no man is able to change the state of this nation on his own.  And what's more, the moral compass of our once great and God-fearing nation has moved to such a degree that immorality has become the new morality.  Dr. Jeremiah says that we are experiencing the signs of a culture at the crossroads. Here is what he says:

The moral foundations of our world have shifted. We see the signs:
  • Marriage becoming obsolete
  • The Bible being marginalized
  • Spiritual warfare intensifying
  • An ancient nation intimidating the modern world
  • America turning its back on Israel
  • Atheists virulently attacking religion
The enemies of the cross are "accomplishing a diligent search," for "the inward heart and mind of a man are deep."  (verse 6)

Who is going to use his heart and mind with more diligence--the enemies of the cross or we who claim to love the Lord Jesus Christ?  If we look at our nation today and the battle that is raging, it would appear that we are losing the battle.  Perhaps, in order to shock us into the real world, Dr. Jeremiah's book would be worth reading.  He goes on to say:

"Can this downward spiral be reversed? Yes, but only if we all, one person at a time, return to God with our heart, our manner of life, our dedication to genuine worship, in serving others, in our giving, and in prayer."

Are we "one person at a time?"

I pray so,
Gloria

Cranberry Morning

Sometimes it can get so discouraging, when we look around and see a once Christian nation with currently nothing resembling Christianity to describe it. (I know that is a very confusing sentence. Hmmm. not sure how else to put it). ANYway, we have no control over the other guy, but we are assured that 'If MY People, who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.' Each one of us is called to repent from our sin and turn to the Lord. He is this nation's only hope. I'll have to check into that book, Gloria.

we can lead others best by our example. isnt that how the media has taken morals away?

My father probably has this book. I've seen changes in the culture from when I was a kid to now. All I can do is be steadfast, and pray hard!!!Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
