"Glory!"

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
 Psalm 32:11

Grandpa Persson is 93 years old and can hear very little anymore.  He comes to church in a wheelchair.  His wife died a few months back, and he has really wanted more than anything to just die and go to be with the Lord.

But Grandpa still can shout, "Glory!" each time he is at church.  We often hear a, "Praise the Lord!" from the amen corner.  One day I was sitting on the porch of the cabin with him, and he shouted, "Praise the Lord!  Come quickly, Lord Jesus!"  It was as though I wasn't there--it was just him and the Lord.

Grandpa can shout because his iniquities are forgiven, his sins have been washed away by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, he is confessed up, and he is surrounded by the unfailing love of his Heavenly Father ( read all of Psalm 32 here).  Even in his sadness, he can rejoice.

I love the chorus, "Shout to the Lord," especially the part that says, "Nothing compares to the promise I have in You."

Let's join the heavenly chorus and shout to the Lord:

Shout to the Lord
All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your Name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I love you
Forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You
(lyrics by Chris Tomlin)

Have a blessed day as you shout joyfully to the Lord,
Gloria

That's a great song..and I think that Grandpa Persson sounds like an interesting man. I think it's cute that he's still praising Jesus at that age ;) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :) :) :)
