The Fountain and Light

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
Lord, you preserve both man and beast.
How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men
find refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
 Psalm 36:5-9

There is a sense in which all mankind enjoys the earthly blessings which God bestows, and I am very grateful for that, because I have loved ones who don't know Him--yet.   If it weren't for His love and righteousness, which is accompanied by His longsuffering, we would all likely perish.  His protection and the abundance of His storehouse covers all of mankind.   And without the sun to warm and light us, we would all die.  "For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."  (Matthew 5:45)

But the buck stops there for those who don't know and love the Lord Jesus.  Until we drink from the fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel's veins, we cannot know eternal life.  And until we recognize in our lives the Light of the World, we cannot have true light.  Jesus said, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." (John 8:12)

There is a Fountain Filled with Blood
by William Cowper
There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.
Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.

E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.
  Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I'll sing Thy power to save,
I'll sing Thy power to save, I'll sing Thy power to save;
Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I'll sing Thy power to save.

As we enjoy this Christmas season, I encourage you to examine yourselves to see if you are drinking from the fountain of life and seeing light through the Light of the World.  He is the only way to eternal life!

With love and prayers,
Gloria

Cranberry Morning

'sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.' What an amazing thought! That the Creator of the Universe who had EVERYTHING, would humble himself to become a human, to DIE, then give us His righteousness so that we could have peace with God and eternal life. I ponder this often, that my guilt is GONE because of Jesus.

I hope His light is shining brightly thru me for others to see how faithful He has been to me, especially this year.
