The Tea Party
Some come reluctantly but usually leave happy!
Just another crazy day!
Okay, they really looked like this! True beauties.
The table
Their great grandmother's fine china.
My daddy bought it for her for Christmas one year, many years ago.
Don't you love it?
Notice the color scheme?
Menu for the day:
Raspberry Tea
Black Olives
Strawberries
Black Bean Dip
Salsa
White Cheese Dip
White Corn Chips
Dark Chocolate Brownies with Marzipan and Whipped Cream
My 11 year old granddaughter suggested a black and white theme
for the tea party this month. That set my mind to thinking:
How could I center a devotional around black and white?
My thoughts immediately went to
1 John 2:15-16:
"Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, for all that is in the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the boastful pride of life, are not of the Father but of the world."
We talked about sin and how it affects every area of our lives. Sin is represented in the Scriptures as blackness and darkness. The girls listed sins that they struggle with. Even the very youngest recognize that they are innately sinful.
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin as we trust in Him as our Lord and Savior.
The Bible tells us that as our lives are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ,
we become white as snow. What a miracle that our black, sinned stained hearts
can be washed in blood and become as white as snow!
The craft of the day was these cute hair clips
made out of red and black felt and white buttons,
again enforcing our theme of black and white with a touch of red.
What a fun time of eating, learning, and growing we have at our tea parties.

What a wonderful tea party with the girls! They all look like little ladies dressed in their frocks! You are quite the hostess and teaching them the Word too! You are giving the girls lovely memories that they will always carry with them. Your china is beautiful and thank you for sharing with us.

The tea party looked like it was such a memorable one. To answer Lilys question, bought the barrettes at Hobby Lobby in the jewelry section. Then I just added my vintage treasures. Decorating barrettes would be a fun craft for the next tea party.
