Only Because of HIm

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!

Psalm 41:13

In this psalm David is crying out for God to be gracious to him.  His enemies, as usual, are all about--waiting for his demise.  What a life to lead!  Do you ever feel that the "enemies" in your life are overwhelming, and that without God's grace you will be overcome?  Well, you are right! 

But our focus today is on the last verse in the psalm, verse 13.  As we draw nearer to Christmas day, the day when we celebrate the birth of our Lord, it will behoove us to remember that only because of HIM may we cry out for God's grace, and only because of HIM may we know life to the fullest.  Only because of HIM, the ONE who emptied HIMSELF of all heavenly glory, took the form of a servant in the likeness of man, the ONE who delivered HIMSELF over to the death of the cross and became sin so that we might be freed from sin. Only because of HIM!   Philippians 2:5-11,  2 Corinthians 5:21.

My prayer is that you will have a Christ-filled Christmas, as well as every other day of the year.
