Can you name all of the 10 Commandments?

 "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point

has become accountable for all of it." 

James 2:10

Do you think you are a good person?  A really good person, or a sort of good person, or "good enough"?  How many sins does it take to be undeserving of heaven?  Let me ask you a few more questions.

Have you ever told a lie?

Have you ever used God's name as a curse word?

Have you always honored your parents--always?

Have you ever envied someone something that he had and you didn't?

Have you ever looked at someone with lust in your heart?

If so, you have broken some of the 10 commandments.  Oh, you've only broken just one of them?  That doesn't make you good enough to go to heaven.  According to James 2:10, even if you have kept all the commands of God but broken just one, you have become accountable for all of them.

We are just not good enough.  

On our own we cannot make it.

  We are condemned.

But Praise God,  for some unexplainable reason, He in His mercy sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sin.  1 Corinthians 5:21 says, "He [the Lord Jesus Christ] who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." 

What an incredible blessing to know that when we make Jesus Christ Lord of our lives, we are no longer under the curse and accountability of the law.  He has taken our punishment for us.
